Evaluates the package weight that is on the order (e.g. comes into ShipRush from the ecommerce system, do note that weights are not imported from all ecommerce systems). Typically, the All or Any options are used.
All items: Sums the weight across all items. For example, you want the rule to fire if the total weight is less or more than the sum of all item weights.
Any: Evaluates against any item. The filter actually fires multiple times, for each item in the order. For example, you want the rule to fire if any item is more or less heavy than X.
Remember to set needed values before actions fire! For example, some shipping services have options specific to that service. If a rate or ship action tries to fire without that value being set, the rate or ship may fail. In some cases, such as a rate-shop, the fail may be silent (e.g. one rate operation may fail, leaving the rate shop to choose among remaining rates).
For example, FedEx SmartPost requires a few additional attributes set. These should be set in by the rule before attempting a Rate or Ship in the rule.
Ground services vary based on whether the destination is residential. Best results require that the shipping account(s) have the address verification feature enabled.
For example, ShipRush will automatically select FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery, as appropriate, if two steps are taken:
Note that perfect results are not possible in any automated system, as the address verification system itself is not perfect. There will be a percentage (typically less than 2%) of shipments that are incorrectly not flagged as residential by the automated system and are billed residential later. This is generally the same result attained with manual shipping with address verification.
This can be used to set the package weight of all packages in the shipment or a specific package in the shipment.
This adds weight to the package. Only effective on single parcel shipments.
Use this to set the ship date on shipment into the future. (Not applicable to UPS shipments.)
Where setting Commodity Description and other text values, the merge codes from Settings can also be used.
NOTE: Those merge codes can be used in Actions when setting the Reference field information as well.
